Our Mission
RockIt Dance Studio by Chrissy aspires to foster the dance creativity and individuality in each and every one of its students from toddlers through adulthood, beginners through advanced. Our goal is to provide you with a unique schedule of classes in an effort to build your skills and develop a progression of dance technique that will help you meet your highest expectations. The learning approach and overall environment at RockIt stresses the importance of teamwork, kindness, dedication, attendance and positivity. Thank you for choosing RockIt! The Story Behind RockIt
Miss Chrissy and Miss Kelly have been best friends since grade school. They grew up dancing at Shade Sisters together since they were very young children. They have practiced and performed side-by-side in countless dance shows and events. As they grew they became teachers who worked extraordinarily well together, complementing each other's different and similar talents. They were bridesmaids at each other's weddings. Later they celebrated the birth of their own children, which eventually led to them teaching one another's children dance, gym and/or baton. They were known as the "Dynamic Dancing Duo," and as they always hoped this day may come they are so pleased to launch the dance company RockIt! Watching our kids grow up and follow in our footsteps to be both close friends and dance teammates has been one of life's greatest joys! For if you choose to take an adventure why not go with your best friend! Chrissy and Kelly would like to thank Shade Sisters Dance Studio for the excellent training, experience and other lifelong treasures it has provided. Many of those treasures also will be a part of the team at RockIt, first and foremost in it's teaching staff. RockIt is pleased to announce that lifelong friend and wonderful teacher Miss Jill will be "jumping on board" at RockIt, and for that we couldn't be happier!

Christina (D'Andrea) Pollice
Owner of RockIt Dance Studio By Chrissy, she has been dancing since age 3 at Shade Sisters Dance Studio. This year marks her 23rd year of teaching dance and 36 years of being a part of the Shade Sisters company, where she has served as an administrative associate in addition to dance instructor. She proudly celebrates the anniversary of having piloted a mommy/daddy and toddler dance program for 11 years this year. Chrissy has specialized in making dance a wonderful part of the lives of children through adults, and although she has an excellent reputation for working with younger students, she also teaches at intermediate and advanced levels. Chrissy earned both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. She and her husband, Nick, of eighteen years proudly have three children ranging in age from pre-teen to five. Their daughter and sons all dance at RockIt. Chrissy is thankful for two things each and every day 1) That she has the love and support of an extraordinary group of family, friends, staff and community and 2) That her daily job is her dream come true. Loving dance and hoping to pass it on to others is the reason why RockIt came to be. Chrissy feels that there is no greater gift than the joy of observing students progress given excellent teaching of technique, but also all the while having fun and truly enjoying the choreography that they are learning in a healthy, professional and rewarding environment. Her hope is that you too will Jump on Board at RockIt, so that your Dance Dreams can Soar!
Chrissy thanks her Mom and Dad for all the years of supporting her dance dreams when she was young and as she now opens RockIt Dance Studio by Chrissy!
Kelly Cochenour began dancing at the age of four and has been teaching dance, baton and gymnastics for over 24 years. She previously worked as studio manager, administrative associate and teacher at Shade Sisters Dance Studio. She has a long history of working with children as both a dance teacher and preschool teacher, and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Duquesne University. Her specialties in dance are tap and baton, as well as working with beginner level through advanced. Kelly's background also includes 9 years in accounting for a major banking corporation which has led to priding herself on excellent customer service and organizational skills to create a highly efficient dance studio. Kelly has been married to Bill for 13 years and together they have two daughters who both are dancers at RockIt.
Jill Gudenburr began dancing at the age of 4, and has been teaching dance, baton and gymnastics for over 30 years. She previously worked as technical director, administrative associate, and dance instructor at Shade Sisters Dance Studio, she had been a part of this studio for 49 years. She has a long history of working with children as both a dance teacher as well as previously being a Sunday/Bible school teacher. She is a deacon and currently serves on the session at her church. She graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. Further her resume includes having worked in the finance field for 12 years before raising her 3 children. Jill celebrates 33 years of marriage to her husband Doug and their adult daughter dances at RockIt. Their sons studied and enjoyed gymnastics for many years which they agree has assisted in their endeavors in sports performance. The Gudenburr Family is more than happy to help in any way that they can to make RockIt a success. Don't be surprised to see them helping at our shows!!
